Divorce and Remarriage should be encouraged

We all have the rights to live our life the way we want. This should be done to avoid hurting the sentiments of people around us. Mistakes are made by humans and marriage can be of them.

For
Divorces in marriages are very common today. Divorce can occur due to many reasons like – incompatibility of partners, insecurity, violence etc.

Post a divorce, an individual has the right to live his/her life by marrying someone else again.

A marriage can be seldom forced on an individual. This may lead to an unsuccessful marriage.

A divorce could be traumatic for the individual. A new ray of hope could be a remarriage.

Marriage is socially acceptable in Indian society. For any individual, especially women, living alone can be socially traumatizing.

Against

Once bitten twice shy. Divorce and remarriage should not be encouraged.

Marriage is supposed to be a life long commitment with one person.

Because the couple looses the ability to understand each other, a divorce occurs. It’s least likely the couple adjust with someone else.

Divorce and Remarriage pass negative vibes to children that may hamper their mental stability.

It creates a negative impression on family and relatives.

After remarriage, it takes time to adjust and expectations are raised.

In most cases, a divorce and remarriage should be avoided. The couple needs to understand that more than anything else, the children needs them the most.

Why always women play second fiddle?

Why always women play second fiddle? Why even in this 21st century women are regarded as inferior race? The answer to this question can be answered in many ways but the only fact is-yes women are still regarded as inferior to men.

Even in this fast world women walk one step behind men. Women always need some men to protect themselves in the society, whether the woman is a doctor or an engineer. In our Indian society, parents start worrying about their daughter’s marriage just after they crossed 20.

The parents think their daughters need an eligible husband to guide or protect. We can also see the conditions of many widows who live a miserable life due to all this so call lack of protection from their husband. Woman without a man is always looked down and having a man is made a must thing in our society. Are we going to blame the current society for this or just the continuation? We are conditioned in our mind that we are inferior and we need protection and help from men.

Women in all age passes from one hand to another, while at home under father’s or brother’s protection and after marriage under husband’s or sons. How well educated the family is but these are the un-ignorable facts. Subordinate, inferior, secondary..these are the words always associated with women.

In our society today some women are in pity conditions, faced all kinds of injustice at home since childhood and after marriage falls in the inferno due to their husband’s torture. Despite of all the hue and cry about women empowerment, women today are still toyed in men’s hand, some at their homes, some at their work place and some even in hospitals during their treatment.

Women are seen as sexual objects which can be use and ignored. All must have heard about the sexual harassment, rape case, molestation, etc in news papers and television. But no doubt due to the set up of certain NGO’S, Women’s organizations against this violence, women find solace up to some extent.

Modern Generation And Their Way Of Respect To Their Elders .

Respect EldersWhy don’t you test yourself ?

Answer the questions below and see whether you are also guilty of showing disrespect to elders. There is no score or marking system; you alone are your own judge.Do you enter a room and remember to greet every single person in the room, including elders?

When you visit a friend’s home, do you say remember to take your leave from the elders of that house?

When your friends come visiting, do you introduce them to your elders?

[Even if it a simple nod or a ‘Hi’ and ‘Bye’, do not ignore elders.]

Do you raise your voice when you argue or do you stay calm?

Do you try to assume control of all activities at home – not telling your mother where you plan to go out, not letting your father listen to his favourite radio station, not seeking permission before changing the channels on TV?

Do you always stay absent on important days in the family?

All these are signs of disrespect.

I’ve heard my own younger cousins asking me this question, which I too asked, until a couple of years ago – why should I respect somebody just because he/she is elder to me?

I have the answers now. Simply put, you should show respect to everybody, even those who’re younger. But especially your elders because they are ahead of you – in age, in wisdom and maturity, in experience and education. Our elders have done a lot for us, directly or indirectly and most of us owe everything to their kindness and love.

And when we show them respect, whether it is by touching their feet, or kissing their hands, or offering to press their legs, it is one way of expressing our own love and gratitude to them.

Besides, elders have also been through all the phases you are going through and know a little more about the world than you do. However much you disagree with them, give them credit for their experience.

It is likely that you do not agree with the beliefs and the sentiments of your elders. But remember that even this is nothing new. All younger generations have always disagreed with their elders and it is these differences that bring changes in human society.

Why, then, do we say that the modern generation has lost respect for elders?

I think, partly this is because, with changing times and cultural influences, youngsters no longer know what is interpreted as disrespect to elders.

This is not a question of who has more rights. It is simply that those who are younger have the strength (or are expected to) bear discomfort, or tolerate unpleasantness, so it is natural to show consideration to those who are older and perhaps, at a slight disadvantage.

And when you do simple things as a mark of respect, elders become aware that youngsters care for them, and they respond with affection and kindness.
