India's explosive opening batsman Virender Sehwag smashed the record of highest individual scorer in the history of one-day internationals eclipsing the world-record of his teammate Sachin Tendulkar as he scored 219 runs against the West Indies in the third one-day international match of the ongoing series against the hapless Windies attack at Indore in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.
Earlier Tendulkar had held the record after he scored exactly 200 two years back against South Africa at Gwalior also in Madhya Pradesh. After Tendukar, Charles Coventry of Zimbabwe and Saeed Anwar of Pakistan with scores of 194 against Bangladesh and India respectively are the third highest run-getters in the one-day version of the game.
