Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president, Captain Amarinder Singh has promised the protesting farmers and landless labourers of Gobindpura in Mansa that once the party comes to power all the injustice being meted out to them by the Akali-BJP Government in the State will be undone.
Addressing a rally organised in support of the protesting farmers in the nearby Bareta Mandi, Singh warned that his party will not allow the Government to handover land to the Indiabulls till the demands of the farmers were not met.
Accompanied by the Congress legislative party leader, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, PCC vice presidents Laal Singh, Rana Sodhi, general secretary Arvind Khanna and the local MLA Mangat Rai Bansal, Singh told the farmers outside the local Gurdwara that he and his party at the first instance will not allow any injustice to them. "But in case the Government goes ahead with its decision, the Congress Government will provide you justice and it is just a matter of four more months," he told a cheering crowd which included the young, the elderly and woman.
