Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Amarinder Singh said Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his Deputy Chief Minister son Sukhbir Badal seem to have lost their mental balance out of sheer despair and frustration.
"They seem to be so panicky and scared that they see my hand in everything that befalls them. There is a pattern of panic and frustration in their statements betraying their scared psyche," Singh remarked. He was reacting to statements issued by the father-son duo since yesterday after the Central government's standing counsel's statement in Punjab and Haryana High Court on withdrawal of a notification preventing sehajdhari (non-baptised) Sikhs from voting in SGPC polls.
"Otherwise, how could the three statements issued since last night, two by Sukhbir and one by Badal, differ from each other so much?" he asked. Lashing out at the Badals for allegedly resorting to blackmail tactics by threatening law and order problem and disturbing communal peace and harmony, the former chief minister said these are symptoms of a defeated mind which tries to resort to all sorts of blackmail. He also clarified to Badals that they were not the sole guardians of the panthic interests, as they try to claim, and opposing and exposing them does not mean opposing the panth and every Sikhs knows about it.
