Chhapar Da Mela-Ludhiana


A FAMOUS VILLAGE OF PUNJAB (INDIA)

A big developed village near Ahmedgarh comes in distt. Ludhiana.
This village is famous for `Chhapar Da Mela', a big and crowdy
village fair at the Guga Pir Mandir. King of snakes is called `Guga'
by devotees.

This fair celebrated in every year in the month of September. Devotees believe by offering pooja during this fair at Mandir,they are safe from snakes for whole year.Last year there was a Horse fair held for the first time. Now its going to take place every year. 

There is an another interesting thing about this beautiful village is this village is having five pattis (Sections/Sectors) Sukha,Sultana, Harra, Tara & Nannu, people say these patti names derived from names of five brothers from this village came into existence. Most the people in this village have having last name 'BOPARAI'& `SEKHON'.
