The city police has decided to initiate a special drive against the use of black films in vehicles from Monday following orders of the Supreme Court.
The apex court has banned the use of any kind of black films on vehicle windowanes. Numerous vehicles on Patiala roads, a majority of them belonging to small-time politicians and bureaucrats, can been seen flouting norms without any stringent check so far.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Gurpreet Singh Gill said policemen would set up special nakas against the use of black films on windowpanes of vehicles and to issue challans on the spot.
