After getting a grant of Rs 6 crores for the promotion of tourism in Bathinda, the hotel industry in now struggling to get the Rs 25 crore grant to be released by the Central Government. The Rs 6 crore grant has been spent on the renovation of the Deer Park, Qila Mubarak and in setting up facilities for boating in the lakes of the Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant (GNDTP).
A detailed report is being prepared with the help of the city hoteliers and Rs 25 crores would be spent on promoting tourism under the Mega Tourism project of the Central Government.
