Former Rajya Sabha MP Varinder Bajwa today rejoined Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) along with his hundreds of supporters, severing ties with the People's Party of Punjab, headed by former finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal.
Mr Bajwa joined the SAD fold in the presence of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. Talking to media persons, Mr Badal said that it was due to the people-friendly policies of SAD that the politicians not only from PPP but also from other political parties were joining it. '
'The party is committed to give them full respect and status.'' Mr Badal said that with the inclusion of Mr Varinder Bajwa and his supporters in SAD, the party would grow stronger in Doaba region. Regarding Mr Manpreet Singh Badal, the Chief Minister said the SAD would always welcome him (Manpreet) if he wanted to come back to the party.
