Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said he had no plans to retire from the active politics as he was still ''feeling young.''
''I am still young and wanted to work more for Punjab and age would not create any hindrance in it.,'' Mr Badal told reporters on the sidelines of the fourth all India Punjabi Conference organised by the Punjabi University here. Accusing the UPA government of not providing adeaquate storage space for foodgrains, Mr Badal said the Centre was deliberately not vacating godowns which were full of foodgrains in Punjab.
He said the state had been facing ire of the farmers even as the accountability rested with the Centre. Replying to a question regarding extension in service of officers beyond their retirement, he said that the state cabinet had already taken the decision about it and in any circumstances no officer and employee would be given extension in service after his/her retirement.
