"Paan Singh Tomar’, a Hindi film in which Irrfaan Khan plays the character of a national-level athlete who becomes one of the most dreaded dacoits of the Chambal valley, was today named as the best feature film of 2012 at the prestigious 60th National Film Awards announced here.
Irrfaan also won the best actor award for his role in the film, a real-life story, produced by UTV Software communications Ltd. and directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. He shares the award with Vikram Gokhale for Anumati (Marathi).
Usha Jadhav got the best actress award for her performance in ‘Dhag’ (Marathi). Ritupurno Ghosh and Nawazuddin Siddiqui have been conferred with special jury awards. The best child artist award is shared by Virendra Pratap for Dekh Indian Circus (Hindi) and Minon for 101 Chodiyangal (Malayalam).
