Jagatjit Club- Kapurthala


Jagatjit Club is a classy building in the city of Kapurthala. Its location is central to the city. It was built on the basis of the Greek revival architectural style. Its elegant design draws influences from the Acropolis of Athens. The palace features the COAT OF ARMS. This coat of arms belongs to the erstwhile ruling family of Kapurthala

The royal motto of the ruling family was "Pro Rege et Patria" which when translated means ‘For King and country’. The Jagatjit Club has been a multipurpose building. In the early 19th century it had been used as a Church. In the 1940s the Jagatjit Club was used as a Cinema hall. And presently it is a local club and a tourist attraction.
