Leslee Udwin, an international film producer, today inaugurated the first Sardar Patel International Film Festival (SPIFF), which is being organised by the Patel Memorial National College, Rajpura, in partnership with the Department of Youth Welfare, Punjabi University, Patiala.
Talking to students, Leslee said cinema was an image of society. "Whatever is seen on the silver screen is the reality of our lives. To maintain sanctity of films, it is desirable that film makers work on good scripts," she said.
Dr Jaspal Singh, Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University, Patiala, opined that the educative and productive movies should be shown to youngsters.
