Family of Indian student killed in Canada suspects race relations as motive

Family of 27-year-old Indian student, Alok Gupta, who was shot dead on Christmas Day in Canadian city of Surrey in Vancouver said on Monday he suspected what he referred to as 'foul play'.Gupta's father, Harish Bhai Gupta, said his son did not have any enemies but he said he feared the killing might be race related.

"It is for sure that he did not have enmity with anyone. All his friends there have also said that he did not have enmity with anyone and he was not involved anywhere.
