One of the most renowned places of worship for the Hindus in Northern India, Kali Devi temple in Patiala would soon get a makeover. The temple would get silver doors and a part of the shrine would be covered by gold. The temple, which was built by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala, is an architectural wonder of the bygone era.
Talking to The Tribune, Dr Naveen Saronwal, member of the temple advisory committee, said that the temple doors would be made of silver. "We already have more than 100 kg silver with us for this project and would soon begin the work on new doors. Moreover, we are also planning to upgrade few other parts of the temple in order to further enhance its looks," he informed.
