Cyber Crime Wing of Punjab State Crime Branch Mohali has arrested a Chandigarh resident who created a fake profile of a girl on the Facebook. The person has been identified as Nitin Arora age about 25 years, a resident of sector 44 Chandigarh. He is a software professional working in web marketing.
The State Crime Branch had registered a case under sections under sections 66A, 66D IT ACT, 419/506 IPC on the complaint of one Sonia Sharma (name changed) who is a BDS student in a college at Mohali. In her complaint, before the SSP Crime Branch she alleged that somebody has created a fake ID in her name on the Facebook and misusing the same to tarnish her image. The accused was also doing chats with the friends of the applicant in the college community using filthy language.
Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, SSP of State Crime Branch informed that the accused was interested in the girl who was earlier residing in the same locality but the girl did not give any response to him. Because of this enmity, the boy created a profile in the name of the girl and also uploaded her picture.
