The Wrestling Federation of India has selected a 21-member team, including seven women, to participate in the Senior Asian Wrestling Championship being held at Tashkent (Uzbekistan) from May 19 to 22.
The wrestlers were picked up by the WFI Selection Committee during selection trials at NIS, Patiala and STC, Sonepat on April 23 and 24, respectively. The team (men): Freestyle: Rahul Aware (55 kg), Rajneesh (60 kg), Parveen Rana (66 kg), Deepak (74 kg), Naresh Kumar (84 kg), Mausam Khatri (96 kg), Naveen Mor (120 kg).
Greco-Roman: Rajender Kumar (55 kg), Anil (60 kg), Sandeep Yadav (66 kg), Rajesh Kumar (74 kg), Mahipal Singh (84 kg), Amit Kumar (96 kg), Rishi Pal (120 kg). Women (freestyle): Priyanka Singh (48 kg), Babita Kumari (51 kg), Geeta (55 kg), Alka Tomar (59 kg), Sakshi Malik (63 kg), Navjot Kaur (67 kg) and Gursharan Preet Kaur (72 kg).
